Most people arrive at a gym with a goal in mind. Lose a stone. Fix a sore lower back. Get stronger before a ski trip. What usually becomes clear within a few weeks is that the goal sits inside a much bigger picture, one that takes in sleep, stress, posture, what you eat between meetings, and whether your body actually recovers between sessions.
That bigger picture is what health and wellness coaching is for, and it is how our trainers work across all three Vive Fitness studios in Mayfair, Westminster and Richmond.
What health and wellness coaching means at Vive
Coaching, in our sense, is not a separate product you bolt on. It is the thinking that runs underneath every session you book with us.
Every Vive Fitness session is led one to one by a qualified trainer, so there is no anonymity and nowhere to drift. Your trainer sees how you move, notices when your shoulders are tight from a week of long meetings, and can adjust what you do that day accordingly. Over time they build a picture of how you respond to training, what your schedule realistically allows, and which habits are helping or holding you back.
That is the difference between being supervised and being coached.

Your health and wellness coaching starts with a proper conversation
Your first session at any of our studios includes a full consultation. We talk through your goals, your training history, any injuries or niggles, how your working week is structured and what you have already tried. Body composition and movement quality are assessed so there is a clear starting point to measure against.
From there your trainer will recommend a route. For some people that is a straightforward EMS programme twice a week. For others it is a blend of strength work, mobility and recovery, with nutrition guidance running alongside. There is no single template, because the person sitting in front of us is never the same twice.
The health and wellness tools your trainer can coach you through
Vive Fitness offers five services, and your trainer will use them in whatever combination suits your goals.
EMS Training
A 20 minute full body workout using Miha Bodytec electro muscle stimulation technology, delivered one to one. It builds strength, burns calories and tones efficiently, which makes it a strong fit for anyone whose main obstacle is time rather than motivation. EMS training at Vive has been featured in the Financial Times as one of its top five HIIT workouts, and our approach has also been covered by The Times and The Telegraph.
Reformer Pilates
Low impact work on the reformer machines, focused on core strength, posture, mobility and control. It suits every fitness level and pairs particularly well with EMS, giving you strength and stability from two different directions. Our sessions are one to one or at most one to two, so technique gets corrected properly rather than being lost in a crowded class.
Assisted Stretching
Personalised one to one stretch sessions that improve range of motion, release tension and support injury prevention. If you spend most of your day at a desk or in a car, this is often the service that produces the fastest noticeable change in how you feel.
Sports Massage
Targeted soft tissue work to release muscle tension, ease pain, improve circulation and support recovery. Recovery is the part of a programme most people skip, and it is usually the reason progress stalls. Your trainer will flag when it is time to book one in.
Nutrition Coaching
Our qualified nutritionists assess your current habits, lifestyle and objectives, then build a practical eating strategy around them. No restrictive diets, no special products to buy, and no generic meal plan pulled off the internet. You get guidelines, meal suggestions and the understanding to make your own decisions, with regular check ins every two to four weeks at first and less often as the habits take hold.
Most clients notice energy improvements within the first week or two, with body composition changes typically showing after six to eight weeks of consistent work. Nutrition coaching also covers the psychological side of eating, including emotional eating and building a healthier relationship with food, and we work around allergies, intolerances and dietary preferences such as vegetarian or gluten free.

Health and wellness coaching that fits your life rather than fights it
A programme only works if you can actually keep it. Our trainers plan around your week, not an idealised version of it.
That means early starts if that is when your day has space, evening sessions when it does not, and honest conversations about what is realistic during a busy quarter. Sessions are booked through the Vive Fitness app on iOS or Android, so rescheduling takes seconds. There are no contracts and no joining fees, which keeps the relationship built on results rather than lock in.
If travel or a demanding schedule makes studio visits difficult, we also offer premium EMS and personal training at home or through our partner hotels, so momentum does not disappear the moment your diary gets complicated.
Health and wellness coaching across our three London studios
Mayfair (Grosvenor Square) sits two minutes from Bond Street tube, with premium facilities in the heart of Mayfair. The studio offers EMS training and nutrition coaching, making it well suited to City workers and Marylebone residents who want maximum results from a short window in the day. Open Monday to Friday, 7am to 8pm, and Saturday, 9am to 2pm.
Westminster (Medway Street) is close to both Victoria and Westminster stations and offers the full range of services: EMS, Reformer Pilates, assisted stretching, sports massage and nutrition. It is convenient for South and West London commuters, government workers and the Pimlico area, and it has the widest opening hours of the three, running seven days a week including Sunday mornings.
Richmond is our newest studio and also offers all services, making it a complete wellness base for Southwest London residents. Open Monday to Thursday, 7am to 8pm, and Saturday, 9am to 5pm.
Wherever you train, the coaching approach is the same. Consultation first, a plan built around you, and a qualified trainer with you for every session.

- Expert led: a qualified trainer guides every single session
- Results focused: measurable improvements in strength and body composition, tracked over time
