Common Questions About Assisted Stretching
Is Assisted Stretching painful?
You should feel a comfortable stretch sensation, never sharp pain. Your practitioner will work within your comfort zone and gradually progress.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows free movement. Avoid jeans or restrictive garments that limit range of motion.
How is this different from yoga or Pilates?
Assisted Stretching is completely passive – you relax whilst we move your body. There’s no active effort or strength required from you.
How often should I have sessions?
Most clients see good progress with weekly sessions initially, then fortnightly or monthly for maintenance once flexibility improves.
Will I be more flexible immediately?
Yes, you’ll typically feel increased mobility immediately after your session, with cumulative improvements over 6-8 weeks of regular sessions.
Is it suitable for injuries or chronic conditions?
Generally yes, but please discuss any injuries or medical conditions so we can adapt techniques appropriately for your safety.
Can it help with chronic back pain?
Often yes, particularly when pain stems from muscle tightness and postural imbalances. Many clients experience significant relief.
Do I need to be flexible to start?
Absolutely not. Assisted Stretching is particularly beneficial for people with limited flexibility – that’s exactly why the service exists.
